Dr. Scholz’s professional interests are in adult gastroenterology, liver disease, and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
He joined Charlotte Gastroenterology & Hepatology’s medical team in 1999. Dr. Scholz has served as the medical director and chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center and the chairman of the Endoscopy Joint Practice Committee.
He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), the Mecklenburg County Medical Society (MCMS), the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS), and the North Carolina Society for Gastroenterology (NCSG).
Dr. Scholz and his wife, Dr. Sara Sacco, and his three daughters have lived in North Carolina since 1989. Having grown up in Minnesota, he likes all outdoor activities, photography, and gardening. Dr. Scholz has been privileged to be a member of the Oratorio of Singers …of Charlotte for many years.
