Dr. Brantley
David H. Brantley, D.D.S., graduated from North Carolina State University in 1975 with a B.S. degree in biology.  He then graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 1979, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. After graduation, Dr. Brantley served in the U. S. Army Dental Corps as a Captain and general dentist for three years. He received the Army Commendation Medal for his work in pediatric dentistry while stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia, and the Oak Leaf Cluster award while stationed at Camp Walker in Taegu, Korea.  Dr. Brantley returned to the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and began a 2 year residency in the pediatric dental program in 1983. He received his degree in pediatric dentistry and started a private practice in Augusta in 1985.
Dr. Brantley is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the Georgia Academy of Pediatric …Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the American Orthodontic Society, the Georgia Dental Association and the Eastern District Dental Society.  He is also a member of the Augusta Dental Society where he has served as Vice-President and President.  Previously, Dr. Brantley has acted as an assistant clinical professor in the department of Pediatric Dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia and has presented seminars on Pediatric Dental Health.  He co-published an article titled “Bleaching Primary Teeth with 10% Carbamide Peroxide” in the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry with Dr. Van Haywood, Professor of Oral Rehabilitation at The Medical College of Georgia.  Dr. Brantley has been on staff at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta since 1985, where he provides dental rehabilitative treatment to pediatric and special-needs patients in a day surgery setting.  He provides oral conscious sedation and intravenous sedation techniques as needed on select patients. He regularly attends educational seminars to further his training in pediatric dentistry and interceptive orthodontics.
Dr. Brantley is married to Lynn Roberson, of Augusta. They have four sons– Will, Scott, Chad, and Ashton.  Two of Dr. Brantley’s sons are currently attending dental school at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Brantley has been on mission trips to Haiti and Mexico and plans to participate in other mission trips in the future.  He enjoys being a father and staying active in his sons’ lives as they begin their own families.  As a family, they enjoy water skiing, snow skiing, ball games, and family vacations.
