Dr. Harvey completed his medical training at Harvard University (2 years) and Washington University in St Louis, Mo. (2 years). Afterwards, he undertook a 3 year primary care internal medicine residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry followed by a 3 year dermatology residency at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Fl. He is currently board certified in both Dermatology and Internal Medicine. He recently (2010) completed a one year ACGME accredited fellowship in Procedural Dermatology at UT Southwestern in Dallas.
Dr. Harvey has served as Presidents for both the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. He is an active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Society for Mohs Surgery, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, and American Society for Laser Medicine and …Surgery. He currently serves as a nationwide peer reviewer for the American Society of Mohs Surgery. Academically he teaches basic and advanced skin surgery procedures for dermatology residents at UT Southwestern in Dallas.
Dr. Harvey has over 19 years experience in cosmetic and dermatologic surgery. His expertise lies in the field of laser surgery, eyelid procedures, and Mohs Surgery (skin cancer) removal. He lectures nationally in procedures as Mohs surgery for melanoma, fractional laser resurfacing, eyelid surgery, non-invasive cosmetic procedures, and skin cancer surgery. He has authored over 18 scientific articles and textbook chapters in the field of skin cancer, cosmetic dermatology, aging skin and environmental medicine.
