Dr. Edelman is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She completed her psychiatry residency training at the Medical College of Georgia and at SUNY Downstate. She completed her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at SUNY Downstate. She has practiced in various settings over her career, including inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric units, adult and child academic outpatient treatment clinics, emergency psychiatric treatment, and community psychiatry.
Dr. Edelman has more than seven years of experience treating patients with depression, anxiety, OCD, Bipolar disorder, ADHD, learning disorders, substance use disorders, PTSD, and schizophrenia. She uses pharmacotherapy along with CBT, psychodynamic, supportive, and interpersonal therapies.
The philosophy of her practice is to collaborate with patients to meet their specific needs, progress towards their goals, and improve their quality of life.
