Dr. Vance received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas in 1970. His postgraduate training was during Naval Service at Jacksonville Naval Hospital and at the Naval Aerospace Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida. He was board certified in Family Practice in 1975 and then by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in 1984 with recertification in 1996. Dr. Vances primary medical practice is in Emergency Medicine at Scripps Memorial Hospital Chula Vista where he has been on staff since 1973. An additional part time practice in Aerospace Medicine and Prevention and Wellness Medicine continues at his office in Bonita, California on a referral basis.
