Dr. Barnes was born in Rybinsk, Russia, and attended medical school at Yaroslavl located on the beautiful Volga River. In 1995, she came to the United States where she completed her residency in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Her interest in research of rheumatic diseases brought her to University of Florida, where she coordinated studies on lupus. After completion of her fellowship in rheumatology, she practiced in Stuart Florida and continued her clinical research activities in various rheumatic and non-rheumatic diseases. Dr. Barnes relocated to the Melbourne area in March of 2007 with her husband and daughter.
She plans to continue and expend her rheumatology practice and research activities at MIMA. Her special interests include lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune conditions.
Interests / hobbies: Florida Gators, traveling, spending time with family, watching classic ballet and old movies.
