What medical change has impacted the field of Epilepsy the most since you began practicing medicine?
Availability of new generation seizure medications and advancement of surgical treatments for epilepsy.
Why did you choose neurology?
I chose neurology as a profession because the brain is the most interesting part of the body and the clinical manifestations of neurological disorders are fascinating. It gives me great satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment especially to deal with the very challenging seizure disorders.
Why did you choose Peoria, Illinois, to practice when you could have gone anywhere in the country?
I found a good work environment to practice in my subspecialty.
Do you have any advice to give patients?
My advice to patients with epilepsy: research to learn more and educate other people about epilepsy
