Eric Elowitz, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in minimally invasive spinal surgery. In January 2010, Dr. Elowitz joined the nationally recognized Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The US News and World Report: America’s Best Hospitals survey for 2009-2010 has ranked NewYork-Presbyterian as having the #5 Neurology and Neurosurgery program in the nation, and the #1 program in New York. He received his neurosurgical training at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn . He joined the Beth Israel Medical Center staff in 1993 and became Director of Neurosurgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in 2004. In 2010, Dr. Elowitz joined the faculty in the Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.Dr. Elowitz specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of degenerative spinal disease including herniated cervical and lumbar discs and spinal stenosis. He also has a clinical interest in surgery of spinal tumors.
