Dr. Eric J. Schenkel, MD

Dr. Eric J. Schenkel is a board-certified specialist in adult and pediatric Allergy and Immunology. He is also board-certified in Internal Medicine.A native of New Jersey, Dr. Schenkel received his BA in chemistry from Bucknell University and his MD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Following his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Dr. Schenkel completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.Dr. Schenkel is a fellow of the American Academy and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He is also past-president of the Pennsylvania Allergy Society and a member of the National Academic Honorary Society, Phi Beta Kappa.Dr. Schenkel is on the medical staffs of St. Luke’s Hospital (all locations) and Easton Hospital. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia …and Director of Valley Allergy Care and Valley Clinical Research Center in Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania. As an allergist for over 30 years, Dr. Schenkel has helped thousands of allergy sufferers of all ages in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. He also has been actively involved in clinical research, helping to develop all of the currently available medicines used to treat allergy patients. He has authored or co-authored numerous scientific articles in the allergy and asthma field. Also, he has appeared in the national media on CNN and in the Wall Street Journal.In his free time, he enjoys bird watching, tennis, and classical music.
