Dr. Yang is board-certified in both general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry, and she holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience.
Dr. Yang received her medical degree from the Medical School of Nanjing University in China. She went on to complete her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the State University of New York in Buffalo, followed by several years of neuroscience research at Tufts University and Columbia University. She had completed her psychiatry residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston – McGovern Medical School (UTHealth) and the addiction psychiatry fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. After completing her training, Dr. Yang worked as a general and addiction psychiatrist at the Mental Health Clinic, Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center at Houston. She also held an academic position at Baylor College of Medicine, supervising medical students, residents, and physician assistant students.
She is specialized in treating patients with a history of …depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, anxiety, substance use disorders, ADHD, and trauma-related disorders. Dr. Yang’s practice focuses on medication management and she incorporates supportive therapy and motivational interviewing, striving to build a strong therapeutic relationship to help patients achieve their goals.
