Dr. Gayane Ambartsumyan is a Reproductive Endocrinologist and fertility specialist who recently joined the team at Reproductive Partners Medical Group in Redondo Beach. Dr. Ambartsumyan specializes in treating infertile couples using both basic and advanced technologies. She has extensive experience in all aspects of fertility, including the treatment of reproductive and ovarian aging, recurrent pregnancy loss, reproductive disorders such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and the integration of clinical, genetic, and molecular data to improve IVF outcomes. Dr. Ambartsumyan is a compassionate physician and is committed to helping her patients feel at ease so that they can undergo successful treatment and experience the joy of parenthood.
Dr. Ambartsumyan was born and raised in Armenia. She has been living in Southern California for over 20 years and earned her medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She then completed her residency training in …Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Ambartsumyan subsequently served as Clinical Instructor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA while completing her doctorate in Molecular Biology working with embryonic stem cells. During her research years, she worked and collaborated with world famous stem cell scientists, and her work was published in reputable peer review journals. Her research involved working with stem cells that originated (%u201Creprogrammed%u201D) from skin cells, a recent breakthrough in stem cell biology that holds great promise in reproductive medicine. Dr. Ambartsumyan%u2019s extensive training and expertise in stem cell biology distinguishes her as a reproductive endocrinologist who is committed to using the latest scientific advances to help improve pregnancy rates for her patients.
Dr. Ambartsumyan has received numerous awards for her academic accomplishments and medical research. She was awarded a prestigious clinical investigator grant 2 years in a row from California%u2019s Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). She was also awarded a highly competitive loan repayment grant from the National Institute of Health. During her clinical years, she was given the %u201Cbest intern%u201D award and was chosen to be administrative chief resident by her peers and professors.
Dr. Ambartsumyan is an accomplished clinician, researcher and author and has written numerous scientific research articles and book chapters in leading medical journals and textbooks. She has presented many of her research findings at national meetings, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), International Society of Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) and Society of Gynecologic Investigators (SGI). Dr. Ambartsumyan is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Ob/Gyn at UCLA where she continues to help mentor residents with their research projects who are interested in the field of reproductive medicine.
