Dr. Gregory Mark Welsh, MD

Jill Betterton knew she wanted to be a doctor since the third grade. Now that she’s an obstetrician-gynecologist, she’s not sure what part she likes best.
“I love the first-time moms,” says Dr. Betterton, herself the mother of two girls. “It’s all so exciting and new, and you really get to watch them grow through the whole process.
“But I love taking care of older women, too; it’s all about transitions and life stages. It’s a time to really take care of yourself. You can come first, for a change.”
Born in England, raised in Michigan, Dr. Betterton enjoyed the focus on compassion and hands-on patient care she found at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Before med school she spent a year teaching high school biology, and education is still a big part of what she does.
“I like to work with my patients to help them make informed decisions,” she says. “Each patient knows best what’s right for …her.”
Dr. Betterton has been with PeaceHealth Medical Group since 1996.
