Dr. Hazem A. Elariny, MD, PhD, FACS, is a pioneering figure in the field of Bariatric Surgery. As the founder of the Sleeve Gastrectomy procedure as an independent stand-alone bariatric surgery, Dr. Elariny performed the world’s first Sleeve Gastrectomy in 2000 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Notably, Dr. Elariny performs the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy with only three small incisions, ensuring minimal invasiveness and quicker recovery times.
