Dr. Al-Khatib – board-certified in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology – has over 30 years of experience in finding, treating, and preventing diseases of the heart and blood vessels. As a cardiologist, he specializes in diagnosing and treating all types of heart conditions. As an interventional cardiologist, he specializes in using cardiac catheterization procedures to diagnose and treat blood flow problems in the heart, peripheral arteries, veins, and carotid arteries. He is also skilled in implanting pacemakers and in nuclear cardiology.
He received his Doctorate in Medicine and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Jordon in Amman, Jordon. He then trained and worked in Cardiology for seven years at Hare field Hospital and Old Court Hospital in London, UK. In 1993, he came to the United States and completed an additional residency in Internal Medicine at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey, as well as a fellowship in …Cardiovascular Disease through Seton Hall University at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.
In describing his approach to patient care, Dr. Al-Khatib shows passion about caring for people with heart conditions, saying, ‘I take the time to communicate one-on-one with my patients and their family members to make certain they understand their condition and treatments.’ He adds, ‘I treat my patients as if they are family and work to give each one my ultimate best.’
