Welcome to the dermatology and Mohs surgery center of Dr. James B. Stewart, MD. Dr. Stewart’s center focuses on the recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Stewart has years of experience treating skin cancer and is trained in a highly specialized technique for removing skin cancers called Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
Dr. Stewart grew up in Oklahoma City, attended high school, college and medical school in Oklahoma City. He attended medical school in Oklahoma City at the OU College of Medicine with a US Air Force Scholarship. He then performed a residency in Family Medicine at Texas Tech University School of Medicine then entered the US Air Force on Active Duty as a Family Doctor and Flight Surgeon.
Dr. Stewart did a Dermatology Residency in the Air Force, taught Dermatology for the Air Force before returning to Oklahoma in 1990. He joined the faculty at OU Medical School Department of Dermatology as a teacher and studied Mohs Surgery there with a Fellowship in …1993.
Dr. Stewart left the University to enter solo private practice in 1996. He has performed over 14,000 Mohs Surgeries.
