James L. Nielsen, MD, FACS is board certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery who specializes in treating patients with various disorders of the lungs, heart, airway and great vessels. In addition to his board certifications, he brings over 25 years of extensive experience to the Ocala area. Dr. Nielsen’s clinical interests include coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), aortic valve surgery, robotic lung surgery and atrial fibrillation. Dr. Nielsen is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Nielsen is committed to improving the health and well-being of his patients suffering from heart disease. His goal is to treat every patient like he would want his family treated with compassionate, expedient and well-informed care.
Dr. Nielsen enjoys gardening, biking, hiking outdoors and riding horses.
