James Lavino is a Resident in Counseling (RIC) and board-certified Music Therapist who works with adolescents, adults, and older adults. James has over 4 years of experience and is passionate about helping people overcome the unique challenges in their lives and improve relationships. He specializes in trauma, depression, grief, and anxiety. James holds a Master’s degree in Music Therapy and Counseling from Drexel University, as well as a Master’s degree from Yale University. He embraces a collaborative, person-centered (PCT) approach that integrates multiple treatment methods depending on the client’s needs and preferences. These include mindfulness, music therapy (MT), psychodynamic therapy (PT), and solution-focused therapy (SFT). We all face challenges in our lives and relationships, but change is possible, and change can be permanent. James provides a safe, supportive and collaborative space, helping you build on your strengths to overcome the obstacles you’re facing.
