Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I get to help people every day. I get to have long term relationships with my patients. In family medicine, we can treat patients from the ‘womb to the tomb’ which is a great honor and privilege.What I want my patients to know about me:I grew up in northeast Pennsylvania. I’m a coalminer’s granddaughter, a mailman’s daughter and a teamster’s sister. I was a physician assistant in obstetrics and surgery before I became a family physician. I enjoy laughing and praying with and for my patients. What I do when I’m not seeing patients:I attend and perform in theatre productions. I walk my dog. I enjoy gardening. I attend a women’s book club, a scripture study group and contemplative prayer group.
