Dr. Haslam is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Tennessee and California. He is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand, elbow, and shoulder. He is affiliated with Centennial Medical Center, Baptist Hospital, Saint Thomas Hospital, Premier Orthopaedic Surgery Center, and Centennial Surgery Center.
Dr. Haslam completed his fellowship in Hand and Shoulder/Upper Extremity at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester, New York in 2006. His residency in orthopaedic surgery was served at the University of California, Irvine in Orange, where he was the Chief Resident in Orthopaedic Surgery. He was awarded his Medical Degree in 2000, from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1996, from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he majored in Mechanical Engineering and minored in Japanese. …
Dr. Haslam served as a Researcher in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, Irvine, and in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and in the Cardiovascular Laboratory at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He was a Teaching and Lab Assistant in Gross Anatomy at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He was a Researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Brigham Young University. He was also an Engineer Intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories in Livermore, California.
Dr. Haslam was presented with the Best SICU Surgical Intern Award in Long Beach, Virginia, was a Sophomore Class Senator for the Loma Linda University School of Medicine Student Association, and received the Blaine and Louise Clyde Engineering Academic Scholarship. He also was honored with a Fellowship at the Advanced Combustion Engineering Research Center, the Henrietta P. Clyde Engineering Academic Scholarship, the Ira Nathaniel Hinckley Engineering Academic Scholarship, and received a Leadership Scholarship from Brigham Young University. He served as a Volunteer Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tokyo, Japan.
Outside the field of medicine, Dr. Haslam enjoys scratch-building and flying remote-controlled aircraft from the WWII era, saltwater reef aquariums, windsurfing, snow skiing, and WWII history.
