Dr. Jeffrey DiMascio is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. He practices at the Cancer Specialists of North Florida Baptist South location.
Dr. DiMascio’s areas of interest include breast cancer, colon cancer, and studying lifestyle and nutrition as cancer risk reducing measures . The Philadelphia native chose to practice at Cancer Specialists of North Florida because of the practice’s dedication to bringing compassionate, high quality care to the local community. “I can combine my interest in applied science with my desire to better patients’ lives,” he says.
“The physicians at Cancer Specialists of North Florida are dedicated, enthusiastic, and work tirelessly for their patient’s care,” he says.
He decided to study medicine because it is a “fascinating blend of science and humanity.” He chose to specialize in oncology and hematology because of his background in molecular biology and genetics that he calls, “the backbone of cancer …physiology and treatments.”
When working with his patients, Dr. DiMascio likes to understand their philosophy of life and what is important to them. “It helps me understand who they are as a person and that can help me with their treatment plans and strategies.”
Dr. DiMascio is active at Baptist Medical Center South where he has served as past secretary of the medical staff. He is currently chairman of the quality management committee and serves on the ethics committee as well as the credentialing committee.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. DiMascio primarily enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys traveling with his family, studying philosophy, and practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wing Chun Kung Fu, and surfing.
He and his wife have a son and “lots” of pets including a rescue racing greyhound, a cat, fish, and hermit crabs.
