Dr. Jeffrey Kimpson is a native of Detroit, Michigan. In 1981, he graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Dr. Kimpson then attended the Wayne State University School of Medicine, from which he graduated in 1985. He was accepted into the Anesthesia Residency Program at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI. in 1985. In addition to completing the Anesthesia Residency program, Dr. Kimpson completed specialized fellowships in both Pediatric Anesthesia (Detroit Children’s Hospital) and Pain Management in 1989. He joined the staff at Providence Hospital in September 1989. His initial focus was the development and integration of the Anesthesia program for Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery.
Due to the explosive growth in the field of Pain Management, Dr. Kimpson decided to start a Pain Management practice in 1995. The goals of this practice are to enhance the quality of life in this patient population and improve their overall function. …Dr. Kimpson is the Medical Director of Pain Management services at Providence Hospital. He has served in this capacity intermittently for the last fifteen years. Dr. Kimpson has vast experience in all facets of Pain Management including medication management, interventional injections, spinal cord stimulation and the management of narcotic pain pumps. His specialized training and comprehensive approach to Pain Management have improved the lives of thousands of patients.
