Dr. John F. Shega is a board-certified dermatologist in San Diego who received his training at Balboa Hospital, San Diego, and St. John’s Hospital for Diseases of the Skin, London, in the treatment and diagnosis of skin, hair, and nail diseases as well as complexion problems. He has had training in a wide range of surgical techniques including a special technique for the total removal of skin cancer and reconstruction of the surgical site in a cosmetic fashion.Dr. Shega also specializes in laser surgery and environmental and occupational skin diseases, and has a special interest in cosmetic surgery. He is a member of the College of Emergency Medicine Physicians and has practiced emergency medicine for over 14 years. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
