Dr. Conti received his BA in Psychology as well as a BS in Biology from UC Irvine, then earned his MD from Wayne State University in Michigan, and finally completed his pediatric residency from Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles in 2001. Dr. Conti is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, has extensive experience in acute care, and spent the last few rewarding years practicing at TLC Pediatrics.
“During our visits together, I make an effort to share knowledge and educate families rather than merely cure problems. By practicing this form of prevention, families are less reliant upon the doctor to treat avoidable problems and thus have more control over their children’s well being. In these ways and more, I believe that the doctor and family partner to serve the best interests of the child.”
“Moreover, children – and their parents – shouldn’t dread seeing the doctor. I strive to make each visit fun for the child while giving personal attention to each family. For me, I …have found that a critical skill is to truly listen to what the patient and family say (or don’t say), especially to the most important question I pose at the end of the visit: Is there anything else?”
Dr. Conti lives in Laguna Beach with his wife, Dr. Juliana Essen, a professor at Soka University, and their daughter, Märta. Thanks to time spent living and traveling abroad, Dr. Conti has moderate fluency in Spanish and Italian and an appreciation for different world views. He is also an avid cross-country runner and has been known to be working on a good recipe or two.
