My Mission
The mission of Dr Jonathan Thompson is grounded by a belief in service to others, respect for one another, and compassion in caring for our patients and serving our community.
My Goals Are To
•Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for people in pain
•Apply the latest advances in medicine to relieve pain
•Improve function and increase quality of life
•Organize multidisciplinary approaches to manage other issues accompanying pain, if indicated
•Educate our communities on the disease of pain
•Provide cost effective care
Dr. Thompson is a native of Louisiana and was locally trained at LSU in New Orleans. His Residency was in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). After completing his residency Dr. Thompson was chosen to participate in LSU’s ACGME accredited specialty Fellowship Program for Interventional Pain Medicine.
Dr. Thompson is Double Board Certified in PM&R and Interventional Pain Medicine. He has lectured to medical …professionals on complex pain disorders and diseases that result in functional debilitation and chronic pain. He holds a special interest in diagnosing and treating complex disorders of the spine, nerves, and joints. Dr. Thompson maintains an interest in clinical research and has been published by the ABPM&R. Teaching is one of his passions and he has served as an educator to resident physicians.
Dr. Thompson is trained in the most advanced technologies and treatments for acute and chronic pain conditions, such as Neurostimulation, Intrathecal Drug Delivery, and Radiofrequency therapies. He employs a multi-disciplinary approach to each patient to achieve the best physical function and quality of life. He takes pride in the time and accessibility he provides in caring for his patients.
