Dr. Jose Bigles-Geigel completed his undergraduate education at Georgia State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2002, and completed his medical training in ophthalmology at the renowned Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Bigles is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. In December 2011, Dr. Bigles fulfilled his life-long goal of opening his own practice, and introduced Georgia Ophthalmologists to the Atlanta community. Since that time he has been treating a wide variety of ophthalmic disorders, and working to restore vision through cataract and Lasik correction.
Dr. Bigles is fluent in both …Spanish and English, and has held several leadership positions in the community. He served as an Interpreter for the Grady Health System, and worked as youth minister with his local church. Dr. Bigles believes in the importance of community and values our senior citizens. He actively participates in local health fairs offering complimentary vision screenings, and makes monthly rotations at local nursing homes to assist residents who are unable to travel for care.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bigles enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and is an avid baseball fan. He and his family are active in community little league, and have sponsored both local baseball and soccer organizations. His hobbies also include tennis, softball and any activity where he can spend time with his family.
