“Communication and trust are keys in psychiatry. I believe the best care can only be provided after fully understanding one from a combination of biological, psychological, social, and cultural perspectives. It is without a doubt that medication and therapy are essential when managing mental health illness, but I believe the beauty of psychiatry lies within psychoeducation as it empowers us to improve our self-awareness, coping mechanisms, and interpersonal skills.
I did my undergraduate at UC Davis studying pharmaceutical chemistry then moved on to receive my medical degree at Touro University, California. Then I moved to Denver and completed my general residency in Adult Psychiatry at the Medical Center of Aurora. Through the years I have worked with patients ranging from severely mentally ill in acute inpatient units and high functioning outpatient individuals trying to learn more about mental health to improve their life quality. I believe in establishing a positive alliance with …my patients to help them better understand themselves and meet their goals.”
