I am from the East Coast and came to San Diego to do my obstetrics/gynecology training at the Naval Hospital in San Diego on a health professions scholarship. I was named outstanding resident in my medical residency group. I fell in love with San Diego and have now been here over 20 years! As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a physician. I grew up in a large family with four sisters, all of whom became nurses! During my medical training, I fell in love with Ob/Gyn and obstetrics in particular. I was lucky enough to be accepted for a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at UC San Diego and now spend all my time practicing high-risk obstetrics, which involves taking care of women and fetuses with medical or surgical problems. I coauthored an important article on fetal movement assessment as a means of preventing fetal loss. I am board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology.
