Dr. Kelly L. Hughes

Kelly W. Hughes, D.M.D. joined Pediatric Dental Specialists in June 2008.  A native Augustan, she graduated from Georgia College and State University in 1999 with a B.S. degree in Biology and enrolled at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry where she graduated with a D.M.D. degree in 2003.  She then completed a two-year pediatric residency program at the Medical College of Georgia in 2005.  Dr. Hughes was in private practice for three years in the northwest Atlanta suburbs before moving back home to Augusta.
Dr. Hughes is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society for Pediatric Dentistry, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Eastern District Dental Society.   She is certified in basic life support as well as pediatric advanced life support.  She currently has privileges at Doctors Hospital, where she provides …dental rehabilitation for pediatric and special needs patients.  Dr. Hughes regularly attends continuing education seminars in pediatric dentistry where she continues to further her training.
Dr. Hughes is the former Kelly Wallace and is married to William Hughes of Tennessee.  They had their first child, a son, in August 2009.  Dr. Hughes enjoys playing tennis, waterskiing, and spending time with her family.
