As an oncologist, his clinical interests are aerodigestive cancers (lung, liver, stomach, pancreas, intestines, anus, rectum) and genitourinary cancers (kidney, bladder, prostate).

He earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine. He is very active in clinical research as a study principal investigator and with many published articles and presentations. He is a member of Louisiana Oncology Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Gallagher enjoys hiking outdoors and spending time with his wife and sons.
