Dr. Kien Trung Tran, MD

Dr. Kien T. Tran, MD, PhD is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a Board Certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist. He received his medical training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His doctoral thesis on ” Regulation of Fibroblast Function in Wound Repair” was also performed in Pittsburgh in the Department of Pathology.
After leaving medical school, Dr. Tran completed an internship in Internal Medicine. He then completed his residency and fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He is involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and dermatology residents. He serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and also teaches at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Tran has been active on a local, state, and national level with numerous medical and scientific organizations. He is a member of …the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Dermatopathology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Dermatologic Society, the Dallas/Fort Worth Dermatologic Society, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.
When he is not working, Dr. Tran enjoys time with his wife, two sons, and their two dogs. He calls the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex home and devotes his time with family, friends, and the community. He volunteers on occasion at Health Fairs in the Rowlett and Dallas area and is involved in the American Academy of Dermatology sponsored local skin cancer screenings.
Dr. Tran is the author of numerous publications including book chapters and research articles and has been invited to present at numerous scientific and medical conferences.
