Leo I. Gordon, MD, is the Abby and John Friend Professor of Cancer Research, Professor of Medicine, and Director of the Lymphoma Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. Dr. Gordon has been affiliated with Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine since 1979. Dr. Gordon received his medical degree with distinction from the University of Cincinnati and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed an internship and residency at the University of Chicago and a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Minnesota and University of Chicago. Dr. Gordon’s research interests include the biology and therapy of malignant lymphoma and bone marrow transplantation. His laboratory research interests include reactive oxygen species-mediated signaling and apoptosis in normal and malignant cells. Dr. Gordon has served on committees of several national …organizations and foundations related to cancer. He is currently the co-chairman of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Lymphoma Committee. Dr. Gordon is a member of the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed scientific journals and is Deputy Editor of Archives of Internal Medicine. He is chair of the Oncological Sciences Clinical Oncology Study Section at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Gordon is a prolific author of reports, editorials, reviews, chapters, abstracts, and books. He also serves on the NCCN Hodgkin Disease/Lymphoma Panel and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Panel.
