Louis Verstringhe III, M.D. was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his bachelor’s degree and medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at University Hospitals-Case Western Reserve Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as Chief Resident. During his residency, Dr. Verstringhe spearheaded an international elective at the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive surgery at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Verstringhe is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of local medical societies, including the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society. Dr. Verstringhe is married to Carolyn Chen, …MD, a Vitreoretinal specialist at Houston Eye Associates. In his free time, Dr. Verstringhe enjoys skiing, running, and camping.
