Macy Preston is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 12 years of experience in counseling and direct case management. Most of her career has been spent with children and families in the midst of homelessness, foster care, and/or adoption, so she is no stranger to walking alongside others in their lowest valleys and on their highest mountains. She also has worked with many adults and couples as they navigate depression, grief and loss, anxiety, and relationship issues. With a background in psychology and a continued interest in the way that our brains impact our lives, Macy works with each unique client to untangle the white noise in their mind and achieve their goals. Macy completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Georgia State University. She went on to complete her Master’s of Social Work at the University of Alabama. After several years of supervised work, she received her Clinical Social Work license in Georgia. Macy’s educational background and experience in social …work have made her trauma-informed and person-focused. No two people are alike, so no two treatment plans can be alike. Macy often leans toward cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Author John Green wrote, “There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.” Macy considers it an honor to work with individuals and couples as they build their hope and improve their lives.
