Dr. Mandeep Singh Dhalla is the immediate Past-President of the Broward County Ophthalmology Society. He joined Retina Group of Florida after serving as Clinical Instructor in Ophthalmology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis. During that time, he supervised ophthalmologists-in-training while maintaining a busy retinal practice at the University’s Retinal Eye Service and also at John Cochran Veterans Affairs Hospital. Dr Dhalla enjoys a national reputation as a vitreoretinal surgeon and has been recognized as one of the nation’s Best Doctors by U.S. News & World Report, America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumer Research Council of America, and has been an Editor for the Retina Times, the official publication of the American Society of Retina Specialists. He has been recognized as a leading ophthalmologist worldwide.
Dr. Dhalla’s interest in medicine began during childhood as he learned the value of healing the pains of others from his physician parents. …“My parents recognized my innate interest in intricate details, visual optics, and naturally nurtured me towards ophthalmology.” He graduated from the Honors Program in Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine earning both a Bachelor of Science and Medical Degree in only six years with the prestigious Medical Board of Trustees scholarship. He then went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan where he was honored the Jan Rival Award, and named the most outstanding resident across all specialties in the Henry Ford Health System. Dr. Dhalla completed his Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery and diseases at the renowned Barnes Retina Institute at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He is Board-Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
