Dr. Marina Epelman is a Pediatric Endocrinologist at Staten Island University Hospital Northwell Health. She received her medical degree from Bukovinian State Medical University. Dr. Epelman completed her residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center and fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Winthrop University Medical Center in Mineola, New York. During her fellowship years she studied the effect of hyperglycemia on inflammatory response in neonatal immune cells and investigated factors affecting diabetes control. Her research was presented at various conferences such as Endocrine Society and AAP meetings.Dr. Epelman has solid experience in treating children with short stature, puberty, thyroid and adrenal disorders. She has strong interest in managing patients with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus using traditional insulin therapy as well as modern technologies. Dr. Epelman uses individualized approach to her patients to help them live healthy lives and achieve their goals.
