Dr Mark D. Hegwald, MD

Mark D. Hegewald, M.D. was born in Corvallis, Oregon and grew up in Stevenson, Washington, a small town in the Columbia River Gorge. He attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana, graduating with honors and receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology.
He received his medical degree from The University of Washington School of Medicine in 1983. He then pursued his Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery residency postgraduate training at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Dr. Hegewald joined Drs. Kozie and Lautman in 1990 with offices in Auburn and Federal Way. He is on staff at Multicare Auburn Medical Center, Saint Francis Hospital, and Valley Medical Center.
Dr. Hegewald married his wonderful wife, Marcie, while attending Carrol College. He has 3 children and 7 grandchildren (and more on the way!). When not spending time at work or with his family, Dr. Hegewald is an avid snow skier and dedicated slalom waterskier. He competes in waterskiing at the national level.
Dr. …Hegewald is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He treats a wide variety of ear, nose, and throat conditions in both adults and children. He is a very experienced surgeon. He believes taking the time to listen to his patients is key to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
