A native of Missouri, Dr. Mark Brown attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City in a special accelerated program that allowed him to complete both his undergraduate and medical degrees in six years. Following this extensive training, Dr. Brown returned to Shreveport as an Assistant Professor in Surgery at LSU School of Medicine, where he was promoted to associate professor in only a few years. Leaving academics in 1999, Dr. Brown joined a pediatric …surgery group in private practice in Houston, Texas, operating primarily at Texas Children’s Hospital. After six years, he returned to Shreveport to practice pediatric surgery, enjoying private practice and academia, serving as a clinical associate professor at LSU School of Medicine.
