Dr. Marnie Stefan, MD

Dr. Stefan has vast experience in multiple psychiatric care settings including outpatient care, inpatient care, and assertive community treatment and has served as medical director for large institutions, serving a wide range of complex mental illnesses. Her main focus is patient-centered care, adapting her role to the individual needs of her patients.
Dr. Stefan was born and raised in Puerto Rico and therefore is fluent in English and Spanish. She attended medical school at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency in Psychiatry at the University of Florida where she received accolades for her abilities as a psychotherapist.
In the many roles Dr. Stefan has held throughout the 10 years as a psychiatrist, one thing remains constant, which is her strong commitment to her patients and ensuring that she treats all aspects of the life of her patients. She is a firm believer in addressing the patient as a whole, not as a diagnosis, as …every patient is unique and has their own set of psychosocial circumstances.
What has defined Dr. Stefan throughout her career is her deep connection to her patients, her ability to provide meaningful psychotherapeutic interventions in all her encounter and her mission to remain committed to the unique needs of her patients. Her patients have described her as being very personable as well as having an engaging and caring style when it comes to her patient interactions. Having worked in multiple telemedicine settings since 2013, Dr. Stefan will ensure that her patient’s telehealth experience equates to or exceeds an in-person encounter.
