Dr. Mathews Thomas, MD

Dr. Thomas completed psychiatric residency training at Harvard Medical School/Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Residency Training Program, also completed fellowships in Psychoanalysis from Boston Psychoanalytic Institute and Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts.He is currently a clinical faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Thomas is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in General Adult and Forensic Psychiatry. He works as an expert witness and independent medical examiner providing a second opinion on diagnosis and treatment of mental illness for the Committee of Public Counsel Services of Massachusetts. During his psychiatry residency training, he worked on a Harvard psychopharmacology algorithm project on the treatment of major depression. His special interest is the treatment of depression and anxiety. He is trained in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for the treatment of depression. He is a member of the …American Psychiatry Association, Massachusetts Psychiatric Society, American Academy of Psychiatry & Law, and clinical TMS society.
