Michael Rains, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist and founder of Beacon Dermatology in Asheville, North Carolina. Dr. Rains provides his expertise in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology for residents in the local community seeking aesthetic services for their beauty concerns. Dr. Rains completed his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. During medical school, Dr. Rains was awarded the Thomas B. Freese Award for Overall Excellence in Dermatology and received Magna Cum Laude for his research in Dermatology. After graduation, he stayed in Texas, pursuing an internship at the University of Texas’ Southwestern Medical Center and residency training at The University of Texas at Austin’s Dell Medical School. He is certified in dermatology through the American Board of Dermatology. At Beacon Dermatology, Dr. Rains focuses on holistic approaches to bring out …patients’ natural beauty.
