Dr. Michael Lucherini

Michael J Lucherini MD MS has more than 18 years of experience in private practice.Dr. Lucherini was raised in Massachusetts and received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Brown University in 1987. During his undergraduate training, he also spent a year studying abroad at the University of Bologna, Italy. He then attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he received both a Master of Science in Molecular Biology and Bio-Chemistry in 1992 and a Doctorate of Medicine in 1994. He then brought his family to Arizona and began a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and Phoenix Children’s Hospitals in 1998.After completion of his training, Dr. Lucherini entered private medical practice and became owner and founding physician at the Arizona Institute of Medicine & Pediatrics, PLC in Mesa, Arizona. Over a 15-year span at AIMP, he and his partners built a thriving medical practice with more than 11,000 active …patients. In 2004, he pioneered an innovative way to provide Direct Access Medicine to his patients, and in 2013, he began practicing Direct Access Medicine exclusively at his new practice at Summit Medicine and Pediatrics, PLC in Mesa, Arizona. The support for this new approach to his medical practice – from patients, other physicians, and the community at large – was so overwhelming that he has now partnered with experts to form Medicus Network LLC, a business with national impact to provide administrative, operational, marketing and consulting services to physicians who wish to establish or transition to Direct Access Medicine.Dr. Lucherini is fluent in Italian and Spanish and is proficient in American Sign Language. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, baseball, the music of Frank Sinatra and Mel Torme, and all things related to J.R.R. Tolkien. He and his wife, Mary Ellen, make their home in Mesa, Arizona.
