Dr. Michael Thomas Decandia, MD

Dr. Michael DeCandia has been practicing Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology in the Valley since 1997.
Dr. DeCandia completed his medical education at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. Following completion of a one year internship in General Surgery, he served a four year residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. A one year fellowship in Interventional Radiology was completed at the same institution.
He is board certified in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. In addition, Dr. DeCandia maintains Continued Academic Qualification in Interventional Radiology.
Serving as the Knapp Medical Center Chief of Radiology, Dr. DeCandia also maintains an office dedicated to dialysis patient intervention and is the Chief of West Valley Radiology Group.
Dr. DeCandia specializes in all imaging modalities, including MRI, CT, Mammography and Nuclear Medicine. In addition, Dr. DeCandia …performs all types of invasive/special procedures. Examples include:
-Angiography with angioplasty and stenting
-Dialysis access preservation/thrombolysis
-Central venous access
-Biliary and urinary access/stenting
-Percutaneous organ biopsies including stereotactic breast biopsies. Catheter directed organ embolization procedures for uterine fibroids as well as liver tumors
