Dr. Obi Osuji, MD

Obi Osuji, MD is a fellowship-trained, board-certified general orthopedic surgeon and specialist in hip and knee conditions. He has vast training and experience in surgical repair and reconstruction of injured or degenerative joints, bones, ligaments and tendons. He has expertise in minimally invasive total joint surgery, articular cartilage restoration, and regenerative medicine including stem cell treatment. He also diagnoses and treats sports injuries. Dr. Osuji believes in effective communication with patients to advise them on the optimal treatment for their conditions to fully engage them in their medical or surgical treatment. His goal is to select treatment options that minimize pain while restoring function and returning the patients to their active lifestyles. He completed his undergraduate premedical education at the City University of New York, graduating Summa Cum laude with a degree in Biochemistry. He obtained his medical degree from Stanford University in Palo Alto, …California. After completing his orthopedic surgery residency at Howard University in Washington DC, he went on to pursue a fellowship in total joint reconstruction at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Osuji started his orthopedic career in Connecticut, where he practiced general orthopedics including sports medicine, trauma, hand, and total joints. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he joined a very busy private practice group. Dr. Osuji is currently practicing in the Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan area. He takes care of patients involved in traumatic injuries including motor vehicle collisions, workmen’s compensation and those with commercial insurance. He sees patients for hip, knee, and shoulder pain, arthritis, hip and knee arthroscopy, joint replacement surgery, orthopedic trauma, and other musculoskeletal issues that can cause debilitating pain, decreased mobility, and reduced quality of life.
