Phoenix A. Ho, MD, is attending physician at Seattle Children’s Hospital, acting instructor in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and research associate in the Clinical Research Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC).
His clinical interests include the treatment of high-risk leukemia, including relapsed and refractory disease, while his research focus is the molecular biology of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). His interests include the molecular characterization of pediatric AML for the purposes of disease classification and risk stratification, and his work has included the study of mutations in leukemia-associated transcription factor genes such as CEBPA and WT1. Ho is also studying de-regulated signal transduction in AML, with a focus on the PI3K/Akt pathway. His goal is to translate his work into new treatments and better outcomes for children with AML.Â
