Dr. Pierre Nedelcovych, MD FAAFP, FAAUCM
Dr. Nedelcovych was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and immigrated through Ellis Island in 1962 at the age of six. Both of his parents were physicians and he knew from a young age that his calling was to help people and go into the field of medicine. He has been happily married for 30 years and is the proud father of 3 children.
“Dr. Ned” earned his undergraduate degree in Zoology from The George Washington University in 1980. Then traveled to the British West Indies to earn his MD from The American University of the Caribbean in 1983. The following year he completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Georgetown University Medical Service at DC General Hospital. From DC, he traveled to Philadelphia, where he completed his three year residency in Family Practice and was Chief Resident his last year at the medical College of Pennsylvania, Northeastern Hospital of Philadelphia in 1986.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. …Nedelcovych and his wife settled in Virginia where he joined his father’s practice in Gynecology. For more than ten years he second assisted with his father in surgery and upon graduating from his family practice residency he transformed the gynecological practice to a family practice providing care to all ages.
During this time he grew the practice into a large six provider group and opened up a second location in Reston, Virginia at the new Reston Hospital Center and was involved in the development of the family practice department.
In 1997, he sold the practice to Hospital Corporation of American and became a provider and independent consultant to HCA Columbia Primary Care Associates for the next five years. Then in 2002 Dr. Nedelcovych went back into private practice creating and establishing a new primary care practice where he acted as medical director, clinician and owner for four years.
Having a desire to practice medicine in Sarasota, Florida he sold his practice to SAI Healthcare and acted as medical director and independent contractor to Dominion Family Healthcare until he could facilitate his family’s move to Sarasota. Upon moving to Florida in 2010 he became a provider for the Gulf Coast Medical Group and then in 2014 joined Dr. Mason and Dr. Aristimuño at the Sarasota Medical Center.
As a practitioner at Sarasota Medical Center he is providing the residents and guests of the Sarasota area quality, efficient and comprehensive health care for all age groups including urgent care, minor dermatologic procedures and office gynecology. Dr. Nedelcovych currently holds medical licenses in Virginia and Florida. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Society for Colposcopic and Cervical Pathology and has fellowships with the Fellow of American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine.
