Dr. Rita Sharma is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) from Albany Medical Center in New York. In 2000, she joined the Emory University school of medicine as Associate Professor and completed a Fellowship in Female Pelvic Surgery. In 2014, Dr. Sharma achieved a second Board Certification in Urogynecology, or in other words Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS), one of the first doctors nationwide to do so.
Dr. Sharma is a renowned Robotic Surgeon. As well as being an instrumental role in the emergence of the Robotic Program at the Emory Decatur Hospital, Dr. Sharma was a proctor for the Intuitive Surgical for the da Vinci Robotic System from the beginning of the program. Furthermore, Dr. Sharma has taught a variety of state-of-the-art techniques in pelvic surgery to physicians and residents locally and across the nation.
In 2001, Dr. Sharma founded the Atlanta GYN Center, with the goal to provide comprehensive care to women of all ages.
