Dr. Robert Emmett Maughan, MD

Dr. Robert Maughan is a member of the Cleveland Clinic Consultant Staff in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. His office is located on the main campus. Prior to joining the Clinic, he served as medical director of the cardiac service line at Cape Fear Valley Health System, Fayetteville North Carolina Dr. Maughan’s specialty interests include: adult cardiac surgery; aortic surgery, including thoracic and abdominal aneurysms; endograft repair of aneurysms; carotid artery surgery; thoracic surgery; and peripheral vascular surgery. Dr. Maughan is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He began his education in New York at Fordham University, earning a B. S. degree magna cum laude. He went to medical school at the State University of New York, downstate Medical Center. He did his residency at Maimonides Medical Center where he was awarded a research fellowship.
