Michael Rosenthal, M.D., joined Christiana Care Health System in 2010 after leaving his post as the vice chair of academic programs and research for the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa.
Appointed a full professor at Jefferson Medical College in 2006, he was awarded the Dean’s Citation for Excellence in Faculty Mentoring in 2008 and the Dean’s Citation for Excellence in Medical Education in 2004.
Dr. Rosenthal first arrived at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as a family medicine resident in 1980. He received a faculty development fellowship in family medicine at Jefferson Medical College and began his medical teaching career as an instructor in 1983. He received his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, Rutgers Medical School, Piscataway, and graduated summa cum laude in biology from the University of Pennsylvania.
