Dr. Murphy chose her career because she enjoys working with people, especially children. She loves how genuine they are and how they teach adults how to ignore the labels and accept each individual as they are. Dr. Murphy was influenced by her parents because of their strong work ethic she believes they passed on to her. She enjoys coming to work each day and working with the kids and their families to give them hope. Dr. Murphy has special interest in fetal echocardiography and treating Kawaski disease because her daughter was very ill as an infant and can relate to how tough it is watching your child be ill. When Dr. Murphy isn’t caring for her patients she enjoys coaching girls basketball at the YMCA and volunteering with youth through her church. She is also working toward a medical mission trip to Madagascar this fall. Dr. Murphy enjoys spending her free time with her kids and attending their activities. She is a big MSU fan and likes to watch them play football and basketball. …She also can be found running at the Bronson Athletic Club.My role as a physician is not a job, it is part of my life. I develop relationships with not only my patients, but their families.
