Rush Akin, MD, earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama -Birmingham and completed internship and internal medicine residency training at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Fairland, Ala. He is a family practice doctor specializing in internal medicine. A current and past member of the Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center board of trustees, Dr. Akin served as chief of medicine at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center, as well as past president of Bays Medical Society. He also served on the Florida State University Developmental Board Of Directors and Children’s Home Society.
